WWC goes fishing in abundant waters

“We were preaching next to a mosque, sort of in the middle of three mosques really, and the crowd was very heavily Muslim,” Smith said of his time preaching Uganda. “We were well received, and the people were hungry for the gospel. We had no opposition, no problems.”

Building team off to Honduras for 2010 spring break project

By the time most people are reading this, another Worldwide Crusades building team will be on their way to Macuelizo, Santa Barbara, Honduras. The team of seven men and two women and a teen girl will spend spring break building a church facility, holding daily children’s evangelistic outreaches and nightly preaching session.

Mission accomplished in Honduras

Finding himself working in the middle of political turmoil is nothing new for Bill Smith, evangelist and president of Worldwide Crusades. It happened to him in Togo, West Africa; Kenya, East Africa, and El Salvador. In September it took place in Honduras when the government declared martial law.

October 2009 News in Brief

WWC’s “Outreach” program appears to be growing in popularity and outreach. While in Honduras, Smith heard from many people that they watched the program regularly. With a Sunday airing slot, a few people told him that it was just like having a second church service. For many Hondurans, their only church service iS during Sunday evening.

Looking back at the calendar, the year 2008 proved to be the busiest year ever for Worldwide Crusades. While those of us working for and partnering with WWC have become accustomed to transitions from one budget cycle to the next, none of us were prepared for the financial situation we now face.

African children, with African sounds, singing from their hearts about the hardships and joys they have already discovered in their young lives as orphans, many of them from the AIDS epidemic, growing up in a Christian orphanage: It’s a great combination come together in a great package.

Sudan: Hungry for God's move

Bill Smith still carries the chains with him now and then to remind him of what he saw God do in the Southern Sudan city of Yei. The chains came from a demon-possessed woman who had been so violent for more than 15 years that she ended up chained to a tree and fed like a dog. She was set free one night at the Worldwide Crusades evangelistic outreach held during July.
